I have always been active growing up, playing multiple sports including basketball, field hockey and swimming. My interest in PT started after sustaining multiple injuries in high school and went through various bouts of PT. These experiences gave me a more in-depth understanding of how a PT can affect your life and help you regain your strength and mobility. I was so thankful for the knowledgeable, personable, enthusiastic and caring physical therapist I had and that is what I aim to bring forward to each of my patients. I am a new addition to the OP team and excited to be a part of this community.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Doctorate of Physical Therapy both at Sacred Heart University. During my undergraduate years, I was named captain of the D1 collegiate swim team and awarded Student Athlete Leadership Award of the year. This career path has allowed me to combine my passion for helping others with my passion for health and fitness. Through my personal experiences, education and continued desire to learn I feel I am better able to assist individuals in reaching their goals.
Following my swimming career, I fell in love with cycling. After taking indoor spinning classes for years, I invested in a road bike. Months later, I road 192 miles in the 2016 Pan Mass Challenge to raise money for Dana Farber. I have volunteered every year since as this cause is something near to my heart. I wanted to share my love of the sport and became a certified indoor cycling instructor through National Council for Certified Personal Trainers (NCCPT). I currently teach at Inner Cycle in Beverly and North Reading. I love to motivate people to help them become the best version of themselves.
When I am not cycling, you might find me running a local 5K, at a coffee shop planning my next trip, or trying out a new brewery. Life is all about balance. I take any chance I get to travel even if it’s just for the weekend. I lived in Ireland for 1.5 years with my family and I have had the travel bug ever since. If I am staying in the states, I love traveling to Utah to hike in Salt Lake or ski at Snowbird but I also enjoy driving up to Maine to ski or in the summer hang out by the lake. I am always on the go and I invest myself whole heartedly into everything I do.
I have worked in a variety of clinical settings and have treated a large spectrum of patients ranging from elite athletes to patients who simply need to get back on their feet. I utilize a very hands-on manual therapy approach and plan to continue to further my expertise through a two-year manual therapy fellowship through the renowned Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. Orthopaedics Plus is the perfect place for me to help patients reach their goals and further my expertise.
