Marissa Daly

Therapist

Hi everyone! My name is Marissa Daly and I am so excited to be part of the OP team. I was active in sports growing up and although I was never the best athlete on the field or in the pool, I loved being part of a team and being physically active. I swam competitively for about seven years and played lacrosse throughout high school. This passion for competitive sports combined with my interest in human anatomy as a high schooler is what motivated me to learn more about physical therapy at a young age. After shadowing a physical therapist when I was 16, I knew right away I had found my dream job! I was inspired by the PT's in-depth knowledge of the human body and ability to connect with each patient.

I received my Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology from UMass Lowell in 2019 and earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of New England in Portland, ME in 2022. While on my clinical rotations at UNE, I gained experience working with various orthopedic injuries and post-surgery rehab, spine injuries and surgeries, leg amputation and prosthetic training, vertigo treatment, stroke rehabilitation, and also have worked with many patients with Parkinson's Disease. I am certified in LSVT BIG to help people living with Parkinson's Disease reach their full physical potential. It has been very rewarding to see dozens of patients improve their quality of life with this program! No matter what diagnosis I am working with, I love that this career challenges me and allows me to work with amazing people everyday.

In my free time, you can usually find me running, attending spin or yoga classes, or swimming! I love to cook and bake different recipes that I find on Pinterest and can spend hours reading a great book. I enjoy outdoor activities all year round, whether it is going to the beach, hiking, or cross country skiing. Recently I have been training my new puppy, Jaxx, who is a Labrador/Australian shepherd mix and very good at keeping me on my toes! Eating is also a big hobby of mine, and I am always looking for new restaurants and breweries to try.

I am proud to be joining the Orthopaedics Plus community that values the patient experience and takes pride in their quality of care. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me and I look forward to getting to know you and your interests as well!
